Trump Makes Good On Tariff Threat… Here’s What Panicking Canadians Don’t Understand
Canadians think Trump is making unreasonable demands… but IS he?
Canadians are staring into the abyss of catastrophic financial collapse and their first instinct is to escalate… here’s why that’s a mistake.
Canucks would complain that Trump’s demands are somehow unclear, that he’s being an arbitrary bully. That’s one interpretation. Another might be that he’s sick of Americans being taken for granted by prissy finger-wagging moralizers who see America as little more than a cash cow to be milked.
Most of the social programs Canadians brag about are made possible by the fact that they can neglect their military. For example their navy went from the world’s 4th largest in WWII to a tiny fleet consisting of 12 frigates, 4 second-hand submarines, and a handful of other noncombatant or patrol vessels. They know they stand in America’s shadow. They let their American neighbors supply a military, and they spend the peace divident dollars on whatever latest social programs are trending. (Like the so-called ‘safe injection sites’) And they brag about ‘free healthcare’ while their politicians run on putting an end to ‘hallway health care‘ and many Canadians can’t get a family doctor.
Canada’s economy has G7 status, mainly because the various provinces trade more with the USA than they do even among themselves. This leads to a trade deficit, and Trump wants to put an end to trade deficits. But that’s only part of the issue.
More to the point, we’ve got a problem with border access (some high-profile terrorists come to America over the Northern Border) and with fentanyl.
If there was any ambiguity… Trump put an end to it in his official social media account.
In a thread on the various tariffs he is proposing, and the rationale behind them, he said this about Canada:
Border crossing and fentanyl. It’s almost like these are issues Trump has been raising with our neighbors (sorry, ‘neighboUrs’) for a very long time.
While government officials from Canada scramble to decide what kind of retaliatory tariffs to slap on American goods (notably and predictably targeting RED states in particular)… we have admissions from within Canada’s own Parliamentary process ‘Question Period’ in which these very issues were laid out as serious concerns by the opposition leader. Of course, Trudeau rules with concentrated power that some monarchs would envy, and when his government was in danger of toppling to a non-confidence motion (like Germany did recently) he called a months-long recess from January 6th until March 24. That means no business can be conducted until after Libs find a replacement leader for Trudeau — most likely a WEF mucky-muck named Mark Carney.
Here are just two videos where Trudeau was being called out for exactly the issues at the heart of these tariffs:
The open border issue:
His failure to even regulate the precursor ingredients of Fentayl, let alone to take criminality seriously:

Huh. That looks a lot like what we saw in Trump’s tweet.
Just how massive IS the impact on the Canadian economy? Is it hyperbolic to claim it is capable of actually shattering the Canadian economy? Not at all.
Ontario, for example, is anticipating their unemployment rate will double.
Must watch!!!

A decade ago, Canadians might have been able to negotiate from a position of strength and look for a mutually-acceptable path forward. But for a decade, it’s been run into the ground by unserious people with woke and globalist agendas.
No WONDER Canada’s per-capita GDP went from a respectable middle-of-the-pack number relative to the states to dead last behind Mississipi under Justin Blackface Trudeau.
Maybe they’ll revisit the reasonableness of tighter immigration and a fentanyl crackdown once the impacts of the tariff start to take their toll.
Or maybe they’ll have another election and replace him the libs with a party that actually cares about such issues.
