NDP Destroying Alberta
Canada NDP are the destroy-everything party
At her state of the province address in Calgary on Wednesday, Premier Rachel Notley insisted her NDP are “the do-something party — the fundamental reformers, the change agents, the people who believe if we act together, things will get better.”
Gag me.
If anything, the NDP are the destroy-everything party – the fundamental demolishers, the fail agents, the people who believe that if they simple keep overspending, overtaxing and overregulating, things will somehow eventually get better.

Canada’s NDP won’t ease up on spending no matter how low revenues go
BNN, the business news channel, ran an online poll Tuesday in advance of the latest fiscal update from Canada: “Is Rachel Notley’s NDP government doing enough to reduce Canada’s dependence on oil?” it asked. But by the time provincial finance minister Joe Ceci released the latest numbers hours later, it was clear that the question’s premise, which the NDP happens to share — that Canada needs to rely less on oil revenues — need not be taken as a given. There weren’t many bright spots in the province’s financial update, but if one thing made it a bit less awful than it could have been, it was that oil and gas revenues are now projected to be considerably higher than the 2016 budget’s fairly gloomy outlook.
Rachel Notley’s annus horribilis: The one-year anniversary of Canada’s NDP government
True to the NDP base, inside and outside the province, Notley came from nowhere to rise to power May 5, 2015, with an agenda packed with promises to re-engineer Canada’s economy away from its dependence on oil, boost green energy, toughen climate change policy, dial down pipeline lobbying, and revamp energy regulation. She even imposed a hefty carbon tax for which she received no mandate. Industry feared for its future.
Then reality took the wheel.
